My husband had intended to take me to a LYS or two on the weekend before my birthday, but the weather here sucks and that just didn't happen. He was a little upset because he really wanted to let me go a little crazy on all of the pretty yarn. I don't buy a lot of "expensive" yarn and I certainly don't keep it in stash for very long when I do, but I do use it. However, the majority of the things I make are either for charity or for people who just aren't into hand washing things so I do use a lot of acrylics (and I do have my favorites!) that I generally get at a chain store. But my husband really wanted to treat me to some nice things. Since the LYSs were out of the running, I suggested that he buy me yarn from Knit Picks. I'd never bought anything directly from their website before and they were having a sale on sock yarn (and will continue until towards the end of March, I think). So we decided to give it a shot.
He also bought me some ChiaoGoo interchangeable needles to try out before I decided on the full set. On top of all of that, I had bought a couple of things and then a lot of other yarn. I just held off to put it all in one video and that is what I'm here to show you today.
Yarn!!!
