Gauge And Size Information
There is no gauge for this pattern. The size of the roses will be determined by the yarn you use and the size hook. Play around with different combinations to see what looks best for your needs.

Round 1: Sc in each ch (5 sts).
Round 2: {{sc in next st, Ch 4, Sc in second ch from hook, Sc in next 2 chains}} x 5. Sl St to join.
Bind off leaving a long tail to secure calyx to rose.
Assembly
Fold the top of the pipe cleaner down at around a third of the length.
Put ends of pipe cleaner through the edges of the center hole in the calyx (with the curled edges pointing up) and pull the pipe cleaner down so that only the bend is on the inside of the calyx.
Twist the two ends of the pipe cleaner together.
Bend the bottom of the pipe cleaner up and twist together to keep the end from being pointy.
Using the calyx yarn tails, secure the rose to the calyx. I stuck the needle up between the petals of the rose, tied a knot, then brought needle back through. Then I did the same on the opposite side of the rose. Weave in the calyx yarn tails.
Wrap yarn around the pipe cleaner until reaching the end. Use the loop made from the twist to cover the bottom of the stem. Use a tapestry needle to push the end of the yarn up through the wrapped yarn and cut yarn.
